After switching off a myriad of features I didn't want it is ironic that the one thing I now need was off by default! Also the backup drive was turned off on my computer, which does not make sense. went to microsoft site...no joy at all. Report Lee- Jan 2, 2009 09:18PM I have THE EXACT SAME THING. When trying to enable system protection on my 1TB HDD (E:\), the option is simply greyed out. I am unable to enable System Protection thru normal means because the tab isn't showing up. That's where System Restore comes in.
Rest assured that I wasn't in any way offended. I can boot from CD but not sure whrere to go from here.
