I have been reading and book marking so many fixes that I overlooked this one. Sounds like a serious class action suit in the making, but that assessment is a bit premature.
I found something that said: "Symantec LiveReg", and tried to remove that, but system wouldn't allow it becuase it said Norton Int. I have tried and tried. But my old one can't be removed . Thing is, if you've already started the installation process, and you experience a problem, you have to not only uninstall what was loaded (through the Add/Remove list in your Control Panel), This business of giving you 15 days and then you can't do anything about it is for the birds. Now I can't get anything to work after having to restore my system from a backup, the Activation says it's invalid.
Norton is a hell of a program, you can't kill the thing with a stick! Another update problem fixed here! If you are in IT as I am, you may see this as the inevitable chaos createded when profit hungry companies move product support offshore. I just upgraded to 2007 IS.First problem: the install was on a machine with Norton IS 2004. In subscription services, there should be 3 updates listed.
