The variations between distros are very minor in comparison. I've got a Dell 3147, 11" two-in-one that I really like that has an IPS screen. Older but not too shabby. I could replace the drive on my current machine, but my current box is about 8 years old...

Someone reported they needed to update the wifi driver back in 2014 but said once they did that, it ran fine with Linux. I will be using the laptop for mostly gaming.
