IE8's Search Providers web page will now load in your browser window.   • If you want to change the default back to Bing or another provider, just visit the Search Provider tab in the Manage Add-ons window again.

I can now confirm that you can visit http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/iegallery and add and make Google search as default easily in IE. any other thoughts? First, open the search engine you wish to add in another IE window or tab. Change Default Search Engine Internet Explorer 10 This is ridiculous.
